1. Visit Hells Gate State Park

2. Clearwater-Snake National Recreation Trail

The Clearwater-Snake National Recreation Trail is a 25-mile long, paved trail that runs along the Clearwater and Snake Rivers. This expansive trail connects parks, historic sites, and natural attractions along the Snake and Clearwater rivers. 3. Chief Timothy Park
Chief Timothy Park is a campers dream! Located on an island with bridge access, this park holds the same unique experience of peace and tranquility that was found when Lewis and Clark traveled across the island in 1806. You can camp in one of the park cabins, your RV, or pitch a tent at a camping spot along the water’s edge. You can also enjoy the island’s swimming beach, boat launch, and five docks that are perfect for taking out the boat or catching some fish! After you have had your fill of fishing and swimming, unwind with a walk around the perimeter of the island on its beautiful walking path.

4. The Listening Circle at Chief Timothy Park
Just a short walk away once on the island, you can experience the Listening Circle, a landscape installation designed by the celebrated artist Maya Lin. The Listening Circle created by world-renowned artist Maya Lin interprets the natural world through science, history, politics, and culture, creating a remarkable and highly acclaimed body of work in art and architecture. Like all her works, Lin’s Confluence Projects merge the physical and psychological environment, presenting a new way of seeing the world around us.

5. Nez Perce National Historical Park
The Nez Perce National Historical Park is a non-traditional national park that consists of 38 historical sites which together tell the story of the nimí·pu· (Nez Perce). The Nez Perce or the nimí·pu·, is the Native American Tribe that originally populated The Lewis Clark Valley.
These historical sites are spread over much of the traditional homeland of the nimí·pu· in present-day Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.
