Montana’s Black Gold Exhibit

On November 19, traveling exhibition “Montana’s Black Gold: Underground Coal Mining Communities, 1880-1950” will be on view in the first-floor galleries at LC State Center for Arts & History.
The coal mining exhibit features 49 historic photographs from private collections and public archives, including Montana Historical Society, Carbon County Historical Society and Roundup Record Tribune. Visitors will explore the stories of the early coal mining towns of Red Lodge, Bearcreek, Roundup, and Belt, focusing on the lives of miners and their families in these vibrant communities.
The exhibition will go through March 1, 2025
