Life revolves around the rivers in the Lewis Clark Valley. Water recreation is accessible year round. Thanks to our low elevation and mild temperatures, summer water activities often stretch from April into October.
At the confluence of the Clearwater and Snake Rivers, you’ll find miles and miles of water south, east, and west of the Lewis Clark Valley. With more than 150 river miles, you can find your favorite stretch of the river to hang out that’s perfect for your chosen activity.
Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, & Wakesurfing
For water-skiers, this means smooth water can almost always be found around a corner. Wakeboarders and wake surfers have plenty of room to try out their latest tricks.
Kayaking and Paddleboarding
Kayakers and paddle boarders can glide along the miles of river frontage with easy access to parks.
Tubing & Floating
It’s not uncommon to see a group of tubes or rafts that launched up river taking an easy float through town. The Clearwater River along Highway 12 east of the valley has access for fishing and launching a raft for an lazy float.
Hang Out on the Beaches
Jet boats are the preferred method of accessing the rugged miles along the Snake River south of the valley. White sandy beaches dot the landscape up river and make a perfect place to set up for a day of relaxing and playing in the cool water.
